Graduation.
Hello Everyone!
I've finally crawled from under my rock and wrote a blog post about a special day.
Monday 17th November was a pretty important date on my calendar of 2014 as I finally Graduated as a Bachelor of Arts from Coventry University (after 5 months since I actually left university in June!), I'm not going to lie I was a bit apprehensive about returning to the city that I spent the last 3 years in and just being surrounded by some people that I hadn't seen in months. I can't even believe how quickly the day went, from arriving and getting the cap and gown on to the service itself! Walking up to get your degree, the commitment of three years in that one certificate. It didn't seem like 5 minutes and then the gown and cap was off then I returned to my hometown of Leicester. The gown was such a pain to wear, it kept falling off my shoulders and I nearly choked myself when I took a seat in the cathedral (typical)
It was such an incredible day and the icing on the cake of an incredible journey as much as it has been a brilliant 2014! :D It was lovely to be surrounded by my friends, in particular, my best friend Katie who I wouldn't have got through the whole journey without! It really was the special day that everyone I knew has graduated already spoke about, I wish I kept the gown for longer and had more pictures to capture of the day.
I know university isn't the experience for everyone, it does demand a lot of you for quite a considerable amount of time and sometimes you have the new experience of throwing yourself out there and living away from home. But I believe it's an experience you should give a go, even if a few months or years down the line you find it's not for you and decide to try different avenues to accomplish your career. I dropped out of university within my first week, the whole idea FREAKED me out but with a bit of time to breathe and talk myself round I went back and didn't look back, I got my degree! It feels amazing to finally have it in writing and to have had the experience I so longed when I left college and knew university was where I wanted to go to my next step.
I really hope you enjoy looking at my pictures from the day, they're always nice to look back on in years to come.
