10 Favourite 00s Halloween Movies
Your having such a treat this week with loads of blog posts, I obviously have a day off that I am utilising well whilst being poorly with migraines so I thought it was time for the second part to my favourite Halloween Movies. This time as promised I thought I would talk about my favourite Halloween movies from the 00's. I'm sure this will bring lots of nostalgic thoughts for you, please chat to me about your favourite films and any plans you have for Halloween this weekend as I would love to read them.
p.s these films are in no particular order, enjoy..
1. Coraline (2009)
Coraline is a film my sister had and I was curious to watch it a few years ago. It's such a weird but brilliant storyline. I found myself being so utterly distracted by the appearance of each character, so visually beautiful and brilliant. With a tagline of 'Be careful what you wish for' it's one of those your instantly curious to watch.
2. Frankenweenie (2012)
When I heard that Tim Buton was about to release another movie which is aimed towards the younger generation for Halloween I knew I needed to give it a go. If the dog doesn't pull at your heart strings it's the young boy who cannot live without his companion after it dies, creating Frankenweenie.
3. Hotel Transylvania (2012)
Notice a theme of family films this time? Want to see a hotel full of your favourite Halloween characters? Hotel Transylvania is the one for you. This is one of those films that unexpectedly is an enjoyable, funny watch. It's also good if your not really much of a scary fan over Halloween and fancy the comedic element instead.
4. Scary Movie 1,2,3
These films are literally goldmine for comedic element over the Halloween season and it's one we all love dearly right?. Finding the funny side to classic Halloween storylines we have come to love over the years. I won't leave any GIFs for this one as i'm sure you have your own favourite parts from the film to talk about.
5. Orphan (2009)
Now onto the scary films (yay!) Orphan is a twisted and very freaky storyline. The person playing the young girl is bloody brilliant! It is one of those films that has unexpected twists to the story, unless you've seen it as many times as I have!
6. The Uninvited (2006)
This one is good for a jump out of your skin occasion. I'm not going to say much as I think it's one to watch to fully grasp whether you like it or not :-). Emily Browning who plays the main character is pretty good too!
7. Final Destination (2000)
Final Destination was first released in 2000 and since then has released 6 MOVIES, which is bonkers. I used to find myself predicting what was going to happen before it did (absolute genius right?) But I think the one with the sunbeds (can't remember the number) put me off for life!
8. The Awakening (2011)
Based in 1921, after the end of World War I. The main character Florence Cathcart visits a boarding school to explain sightings of a child ghost. This film made me jump so many times, wah!
9. Jeepers Creepers (2001)
This film is an absolute classic! I absolutely love the creepy, tense music and the storyline. The main character is very scary too! I forgot how bloody good this film was until recently and now really just want to watch it.
10. Gone Girl (2014)
This is a new one. Gone Girl to me isn't 'scary' but it's a good Thriller/Mystery with the best twists and turns ever. I definitely think the book was a hell of a lot better but they gave it a good go at producing a good film!
