Do All The Things at Ventnor Fringe Review
Do All The Things, performed by A&E Comedy, is an hour-long interactive gameshow that blends comedy sketches, audience participation and just the right amount of organised chaos.
From the moment we walked in, we were handed a ‘Thingo’ card, filled with challenges such as learning a dance routine or picking up a swear word in another language. It quickly became clear that this wasn’t a show where you could sit back and simply watch. Instead, the audience became part of the experience, and the result was an hour spent smiling, laughing and embracing the silliness.
The show was made up of five different games and challenges, each one bringing a fresh burst of energy. One of the loveliest parts of the evening was how naturally it brought people together. There were plenty of solo audience members, myself included, but within minutes we were working as a team, cheering each other on and completing challenges together. It created such a welcoming atmosphere and was a lovely reminder of how theatre can connect complete strangers.
Between each game, we were shown a CCTV-style live feed into Abigail and Emma’s dressing room. These moments gave us a glimpse behind the scenes as the pair prepared for the next section, sharing their thoughts and conversations about what was to come. Covering topics including feminism, science and human connection, these interludes cleverly set up each game while adding another layer to the show beyond the audience participation.
Do All The Things is wonderfully silly in all the best ways. It encourages you to let your guard down, get involved and simply have fun, something that can be surprisingly rare. Whether you arrive with a group or on your own, you’ll leave feeling like you’ve shared something genuinely joyful with the people around you.
