Escape Room 2, written by Joel Joan and Hèctor Claramunt, premiered in December 2023 and has been a massive success ever since. It is now celebrating 300 performances before inevitably closing on March 9th. A tour has been impossible to schedule due to the size of the scenography, so this is the public’s last chance to see it live before its third and final installment. I love the idea of a theatre trilogy!

The show has also premiered in Madrid, in Spanish, as well as in Peru, Argentina, and Mexico. New productions are being prepared abroad. Who knows, maybe the West End could be next!

How fitting it was to see the second part of Escape Room for the second time! This time, I was sitting in the front row, just to the left of the stage. There was plenty of legroom, so I’d say those seats are perfect for anyone who needs to stretch their legs or just enjoys a bit of extra space.

The show was just as funny and electric as the first time, perhaps even more so, and the audience was more than ready to have a good laugh. After the play, the entire team took the stage for a brief but lighthearted speech before a themed cake was brought out for everyone to enjoy.

Escape Room 2 will be at Teatre Condal, Barcelona, until March 9th. You can find our previous review of the show here for more details on the plot, staging and acting.
