The reality of social media can open a Pandora's Box of questionable morals and judgement,  with most topics appearing to be 'fair game' in the fame hungry hunt of the fittest- but at what cost?

Carleen (Leah St Luce) and Crystal (Jadesola Odunjo) are a dream team duo in the race for online exposure,  with an all-important end goal, of becoming famous influencers, lighting the way. This happy-go-lucky friendship, quickly takes a flip turn, as the stark reality of trading morals for fame shatters friendship and self-identity.

Written by Racheal Ofori, this fast-paced, social satire, comes after every element of social media. It's relevant, insightful, witty and memorable in its effort to draw attention to the hollow, superficial and somewhat dark depths of life online. The piece is directed to choreographic precision by Emily Aboud, with St Luce and Odunjo's unrelenting energy showcasing impressive stamina throughout. Their chemistry created an endearing charm as they instantly brought the audience into their world, segueing seamlessly between online personas to IRL situations with effortless ease.

Flip is a fiercely relevant journey into the dark depths of social media, handled with sharp wit and careful consideration.

At Alphabetti Theatre until 28 October.
