After their successful run in London’s Arts Theatre and at the Edinburgh Fringe tour; the boldest, most vibrant (and most glamorous!) Queenz are strutting into one heck of a UK tour in 2023 and you do not want to miss it!

Taking to the stage are five drag queens, Bella Du Balle (Ben Sell), Dior Montay (Mark McCredie), Candy Caned (Josh Hanson), Billie Eyelash (Craig Colley) and ZeZe Van Cartier (Lew Ray) with 80-minutes of showstoppers from iconic divas across the decades, as well as the opportunity to celebrate being who your authentic self. Its message is loud and proud, and all of the audience were lapping it up at every given opportunity.

The Queenz sing live in this production and it’s this element that makes it stand out from the growing crowd of drag shows up and down the county. Each of the has their own time to shine, giving striking performances with their incredible vocals and without an eyelash out of place. The show with balls is jam-packed, often drawing on the pioneering icons that gave the community its voice over the years. From Cher to Lady Gaga, the Spice Girls and even a musical megamix thrown in there for good measure. This megamix cleverly switches up lyrics to align them with the show’s narrative of gender-bending. After this performance alone I’d love to see Dior Montay (Mark McCredie) defy gender roles at the Victoria Apollo Theatre in London!

Queenz also has brilliantly incorporated some audience participation so that isn’t all about the big music numbers but actually ensuring their audience has an exceptional night in their company. You won’t be able to resist getting out of your seat with this one, and it’s often encouraged!

The most poignant moment in this show is their powerful performance of ‘True Colours’ which concludes what is definitely a life-affirming show in perfect style. It brings together a sincere message of tolerance, solidarity and love for the LGBTQ+ community.

The only thing I would consider with your visit to see the Queenz is the use of lighting. At times it's very bright and there are often flashes. The sound was also very loud but this didn’t hinder the vocals on the stage and the overall production of this show.

This vibrant spectacular is one hell of a night out –grab your sparkles and your ticket as soon as possible!
