Interview with Tayluer Amos | MOVE IT 2018.

Next month the UK's Dance event of the year, MOVE IT will be taking over London's Excel. Between 16-18 March you can join over 22,000 dancers in performances, classes, career advice, celebrities, interviews, and shopping too. The dance is ideal for the even the smallest dance fan to get involved. The buzz is exciting for this Dance event and having spoken to Brandon Lawrence and Tara Jean Popwich recently on the blog, 2018 sets to the one of the biggest year's yet for MOVE IT.

Tayluer Amos is next to be interviewed and at the age of 17, she is continuing to develop her professional career. Not only is Tayluer already an accomplished professional dancer but model and actress too. She's also quite the young businesswoman with two clothing ranges to her name, her first launching when she was only 14 years old. Tayluer has appeared on Sky One's Got To Dance but is probably better known for her appearance on Dance Mums with Jennifer Ellison. 

Tayluer Amos really is a rising star you need to watch out for. 2018 proves to be just as much of an exciting year as the last few for Tayluer. 2018 will be the year she stars in a film, Doll Factory as the lead role. She will be also working hard in her role as ambassador for the charity, Girls Out Loud. As their youngest Ambassador, the charity's mission is to empower and inspire teenage girls in the UK and beyond to have confidence, self-belief, emotional resilience and a positive self image. Hopefully this will support young women to think big, embrace risk and reach for the highest of limits. Tayluer will be a fantastic role model for the charity and will also be one of MOVE IT's Ambassadors too.

Tayluer is no stranger to MOVE IT, "I have been involved with MOVE IT now for 3 years and this year they got in touch with my dad and asked him if I would like to be a ‘MOVE IT 2018 ambassador’. I was thrilled when they asked me and I couldn’t wait to be part of it again this year". As a young woman, Tayluer's influence on the younger people who attend the event will be essential. Her advice for the young girls who admire her through her 52k+ following on Instagram really reflects in her words for those wanting to aspire to be a professional, "Never let anyone tell you that you can’t do something and the main person you should be in competition with is yourself". 

Tayluer Amos has danced since the age of 3 where her mum took her along to a local dance school for a Ballet class. "The Following week she took me to a tap class as well, I loved all of the classes each week so I carried on going". Tayluer got the buzz for competing in dance from the age of 5 and from there began to commit to what would soon become a full-time gig for the Liverpoolian teenager. "By the age of 7 I was dancing 6 days a week and I really loved being there". She first came to light on National TV when she was 10 and got involved in Sky One's Got To Dance programme where her and her dance partner Elliot came runner up in the competition. But it didn't stop there, "I was also entered into the Hall of Fame Dance Challenge and was crowned National Champion of America". It was around that time that Tayluer knew that this was more a hobby, it became her career and she's "excited about what the future holds".

Whilst Tayluer's competition days are complete and behind her, she is proud of what she achieved in those years. "I love doing my workshops because I get the opportunity to meet new dancers from around the UK. I get to spend time with them, dance with them and talk about the dance industry with them. It really inspires me." Tayleur often dances in workshops but also has the opportunity to lead classes and support other dancers in their dance journeys too.

So I asked Tayluer Amos why should people come to MOVE IT next month in London? "I think people should attend MOVE IT this year because there is so much to see and get involved with. If you are looking at going to a college in September there are plenty of colleges at MOVE IT for you to look at. There is also the incredible amount of workshops with amazing choreographers that you can participate in. Then you can sit back and watch some spectacular performances on the Main Stage. There's so much to do!"
