Evening Spa Experience at Ragdale Hall, Leicester

What's some time with your girlfriends without a trip to the spa? So with one of my closest blogger friends Ali from Ali Caitrin coming to stay at the weekend I decided to see if I could get us a spa date in the diary. My local spa is Ragdale Hall, near Melton Mowbary and it's been on my list of places to visit since I can remember so when they asked whether we'd like to have a go at their new Evening Spa Experience package I knew we had to go.

Ragdale Hall is located in the Leicestershire countryside, combining state of the art facilities with traditional Victorian architecture to become one of the most luxurious and relaxing health spas available in the county. So whether you are looking for some well-needed me-time and pampering or you'd like to have some well needed relaxing time with your loved ones, Ragdale Hall assures us it's the spa to visit. It has a massive range of spa treatments to suit your every needs, and with the prices of their 13 different day packages ranging from £49 to £225 for our Ultimate Day deluxe package, there are great value options available for everyone. They also do spa breaks too which means you can make your experience into a slumber party! (awesome right!) this starts at £325 per person for two nights and includes all meals, treatments and full use of their facilities. With so much to prove let's get on with talking about our experience.

The grounds surrounding the place are beyond gorgeous! There are lots of seats available for you to soak in the rays on a glorious sunny day as well as beautiful landscape views for you to enjoy whilst you relax. I think there's nothing more that can relax you  more than views to digest.

Me and Ali were beyond excited to get in the venue and see what it had to offer. The Victorian decor was so fitting to the atmosphere of the place I just couldn't quite believe how big the venue actually was! Me and Ali were given a complimentary Ragdale fruit punch which was so refreshing and exactly what you needed before going into the spa.

After getting a little lost looking for the spa facilities we finally found them and quickly popped on our costumes and dressing gowns and headed for the Jacuzzi! We felt like the only way we could begin our experience was to head to the Jacuzzi first and have a little catch up on all things blogging (because that's what bloggers do when they hang out right?)

Ragdale Hall's thermal spa facilities were next to none, I couldn't believe how many things were available for us to have a go at within our 2 hour timeframe before we needed to be in the restaurant for our dinner booking. We went mental making sure we tried out everything and no stone was left untouched. It felt like we had so many things to squeeze in but actually the time frame was comfortable for us to enjoy each room.

My absolute favourites where the Candle Pool which was a totally unexpected mosaic cavern with lapping water lit by the flicker of candles and a star-lit ceiling. It was complete bliss and I felt like I was at home in my bathtub! The water is heated to a constant 34C. It's not to be missed if you go! Another favourite was the Rose Sauna. Images and scents of roses fill this sauna giving a really fresh twist on a sauna experience. It also has a view of the waterfall pool so you can relax in the scents and enjoy a great view. This leads me onto my final favourite, the Outdoor/Indoor Waterfall Pool! This pool has numerous bays and inlets carved into the pool's structure that still allows you the privacy you need whilst enjoying the massage jets and stunning waterfall. I got knocked over by one of the massage jets when I initially gave it a go but it was so enjoyable and we couldn't stop going back to enjoy it all over again. It's available to use come rain or shine, how amazing!

There is also a main pool area which has a 25 metre and 12 metre lengths for those people who want to get a serious swim under them, raised whirlpool spa and water cascade, massage jets for the feet, lower back and shoulders and spacious mixed steam room and sanarium (combined sauna with soft herbal bath!)

You can also take a dip into the separate exercise pool which offers a variety in their daily programme of water exercise as well as aqua gym underwater gym equipment. So there's definitely availability to do some exercise whilst enjoying such a relaxing environment.

It didn't seem long until we needed to get changed and head over to the Verandah Bar for our 2 course dinner which was part of the Evening Spa Experience. I was definitely starting to feel a bit peckish so couldn't wait to see what they had to offer.

The bar was spacious and had a friendly group of staff waiting to ensure we had a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. The meal kicked off with some breads and dips, the chutney style dip was really delicious with the cheese top bread, especially if it was toasted. It was the perfect portion size to get our taste buds underway. For the main course I opted for the Battered Seabass Fillet with Chips and Peas and it was D E L I C I O U S. I almost wanted another seabass fillet to enjoy it was was well prepared and complimented the chips and mushy peas down to a tee. I felt like I completely rushed my food and just wanted more on my plate to enjoy!

I definitely felt like I made a poor choice with my dessert, I opted for the Chocolate Pot which was delicious but definitely far too chocolatey for my appetite. I got major dessert envy of Ali's Ragdale Mess so when her post is up I will link it so you can see why I had food envy!

The menu felt like it had the perfect option to suit most people and there was enough choice available. The menu also didn't feel cramped with too much choice making it tough to make a decision either so I was well impressed.

Overall I had such an unforgettable and exciting experience at Ragdale Hall. It completely relaxed me and filled me up with good food. There was so much variety through the spa and I thoroughly enjoyed experiencing all it had to offer!

Ragdale Hall Health Hydro and Thermal Spa is currently launching this new experience as part of their spa day packages at the price of £49 (Monday to Thursday) and £59 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). I would definitely make the most of it before it's gone!
