The Essential Guide For Tramlines Festival This Summer

Are you attending the Tramlines Festival this summer? The renowned music festival heads back to Sheffield at the end of July and promises to be better this year than ever before. Tramlines Festival attracts a diverse line of international and local artists across various genres. This year is just as exciting with Paolo Nutini, Tom Grennan and Snow Patrol heading to the stage.

Whether you're a seasoned festival-goer or a first-timer, ensuring you have the right essentials can make or break your experience. From enjoying the music to staying comfortable, here’s your ultimate guide on what you need to pack for Tramlines Festival 2024.

1.Festival Ticket and ID

It might seem like an obvious one but having your festival ticket and a valid ID are the most critical items to have on you at the festival. Ensure these are easily accessible at all times (and also kept somewhere safe). Consider using a waterproof lanyard to keep them safe from the British weather too!

2. Comfortable Clothing and Footwear

The festival fit is important right? We want to look stylish but also we need to be comfortable! Weather can be unpredictable so pack a range of outfits and things which you can layer too. Think lightweight tops, a warm hoodie for the evening, and a waterproof jacket. Make sure you’ve got sturdy, comfortable shoes or boots! You’ll be on your feet all day, and the ground can get muddy so don’t bring your white trainers! Finish off your festival fit with a hat and sunglasses if it’s sunny, whilst a scarf or bandana can double as a pillow.

3. Plan your day

Tramlines Festival is set in Hillsborough Park, which has fantastic travel links to access it. If you’re staying in the city as part of your festival experience, you can use the Tram and Bus services but people can also get there easily by foot and bike to the location. If you’re also like me and love to play your day around the set times and who you are planning to see during the festival, download the free Tramlines App! It’s a great app that enables you to plan your weekend, grab your merch and a map of the entire festival to ensure you get the most out of your visit.

4. Personal Care Items

Things like hand sanitiser and sun cream are a must for maintaining hygiene and protecting your skin at a festival. I would also encourage you to pack some wipes and tissues because we know that toilets at a festival ain’t a vibe!

5. Reusable Water Bottle

Staying hydrated at a festival is vital. Bring a durable, refillable water bottle. Many festivals now have water stations for refilling, reducing plastic waste.

6. Food and Snacks

While festival food is part of the experience, it can be expensive. Bring non-perishable snacks like energy bars, nuts, and dried fruit to keep you going between meals, especially if it’s warm.

7. Portable Charger

With all the photo-taking, social media updates, and navigating using your phone, a portable charger is essential to keep your devices powered throughout the day. Don’t forget to charge it before you head to the festival!

8. Festival Essentials

You need your festival essentials like cash (not all vendors accept cards) and a secure place to keep it safe for you. Prolonged exposure to loud music can damage your hearing so pack a pair of quality earplugs, the Loop Experience ones are brilliant and a personal recommendation.

With so much to remember, heading to a festival can be an overwhelming experience. Overall if you travel light and have your essentials, you’ll be well prepared to enjoy everything the Tramlines Festivals has to offer this summer. You’ll have an unforgettable summer in Sheffield with amazing music, good vibes and lasting memories! Tramlines Festival runs from 26-28 July 2024.
