10 Festive Shows For Adults Only in London in 2024
The outrageous comedy found in adult pantos have made them an increasingly popular staple over the festive period. Whether they are a take on a classic fairy tale or a parody of your favourite Christmas film, these interactive and over the top performances are definitely not for the whole family!
But if you are after a naughty evening out in London with your friends or your loved one in the run up to the big day, here are 10 Shows for adults only this festive season:
1. A Very Naughty Christmas, Southwark Playhouse Elephant
28th November 2024 – 11th January 2025
This Australian show mixes a setlist of classic carols and modern pop tunes with a group of partially nude performers and ‘rogue jingle bells’ – the tree won’t be the only thing getting lit!
2. Homo Alone, The Other Palace
29th November 2024 – 5th January 2025
Based on the popular Christmas film, the show follows Kevin as he protects his house from burglars while spending Christmas away from his family. This parody show will be the most recent in a series of adult Christmas shows at the Other Palace, with last years being one I personally enjoyed.
3. Jack and the Beanstalk: What a Whopper!, Charing Cross Theatre
23rd November 2024 – 11th January 2025
Jack is very poor and very gay, living on a dilapidated farm miles from the nearest Grindr user. When the thickest stalk he’s ever seen sprouts in the garden, he wonders if there is a giant at the top?
4. Snow White, Vauxhall Theatre
6th - 22nd December 2024
Touting ‘the most outrageous seven dwarves in pantomime history,’ this panto is filled with modern pop songs and audience interaction. Not one for the faint hearted!
5. A Pissedmas Carol, Leicester Square Theatre
9th December 2024 – 11th January 2025
This will be the Sh!t-faced Showtime’s fifth Christmas at the Leicester Square Theatre. The actors on stage become genuinely inebriated as the show goes on, so everyone in the venue will be treated to a festive knees up!
6. Wolfed, Royal Vauxhall Tavern
26th November 2024 – 5th January 2025
After winning an Off West End Award for their panto performance in 2023, this year the venue is putting on another classic fairy tale. This iteration of Red Riding Hood will include all of the classic panto beats, but with added 18+ content.
7. Sleeping with Beauty, Union Theatre
23rd November 2024 – 22nd December 2024
Follow the story of Princess Awhorin as she fights against the devilish Carabosse. Will the fairy save the day, or will Prince Albert have to get his chopper out? This one promises to be the filthiest panto in town.
8. The Lord of the Rims: An Adult Panto, Two Brewers
5th December 2024 – 3rd January 2025
Although not necessarily a Christmas film, this popular franchise has certainly been given the adult panto treatment. “Expect double entendre, camp and a lot of panto silliness in this affectionate butchering of a beloved classic!”
9. Cinderella – Adults Only, King’s Head Theatre
5th - 19th December 2024
Summary: These adults only performances will be running alongside this venue’s family production of Cinderella – with both with the same puppetry, slapstick comedy and audience participation. Join Cinders as she gets a North London upgrade!
10. Humbug – The Immersive Christmas Dive Bar, The Truman Brewery
14th November 2024 – 31st December 2024
Summary: Something slightly different to end the list – Join the Truman Brewery as it transforms into an immersive Santa’s grotto. With DJ’s, sing alongs and drinks a-plenty. It may not be a panto, but this experience may offer something a little different for those wanting to be immersed in the Christmas spirit.
