Full Cast Announced for The Lonely Londoners at Kiln Theatre

The critically acclaimed production of Sam Selvon’s The Lonely Londoners opens at the Kiln Theatre early next year, following its sold out run at the Jermyn Street Theatre.

The cast includes the cast includes Tobi Bakare (Gone Too Far!, Royal Court Theatre) as Lewis, Shannon Hayes (Bitter Lemons, Park Theatre) as Agnes, Solomon Israel (A Raisin in the Sun, Lyric Hammersmith) as Moses, Gilbert Kyem Jnr (A Raisin in the Sun, Lyric Hammersmith) as Big City, Carol Moses (Clockwork, National Theatre) as Tanty, Aimée Powell (Family Tree, UK Tour) as Christina, Romario Simpson (Syndrome, Tristan Bates Theatre) as Galahad.

Set in 1950s London, the iconic novel follows Henry ‘Sir Galahad’ Oliver who arrives from Trinidad and is impatient to begin his new life. Carrying only his pyjamas and a toothbrush, he bursts through Moses Aloetta’s door only to find Moses and his friends already soured on city life. Will the London fog dampen Galahad’s dreams? Or will these Lonely Londoners make a home in a city that sees them as a threat?  

Ebenezer Bamgboye’s critically acclaimed production opens a window into the hopes, dream and realities of generation Windrush.

The Lonely Londoners will run at Kiln Theatre from 10 -22 February 2025.
