Ahead of its US Premiere at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, A Streetcar Named Desire will return to London for a limited season in February.

The sell-out Almeida Theatre production of Tennessee Williams’ play will be directed once again by Olivier Award-winning director Rebecca Frecknall. The story explores the emotional and psychological struggles of Blanche DuBois, a fading Southern belle who moves in with her sister Stella and her domineering husband, Stanley, in New Orleans. The story delves into themes of desire, mental instability, and the clash between illusion and harsh reality as Blanche’s world unravels.

A Streetcar Named Desire will see Paul Mescal (Normal People), Olivier Award winners Patsy Ferran (Summer & Smoke) and Anjana Vasan (We Are Lady Parts) with Dwane Walcott (One Night in Miami, Our Girl) reprising their roles of Stanley, Blanche, Stella and Harold ‘Mitch’ Mitchell.

Completing the cast is Eduardo Ackerman (Let the Right One in) as Pablo Gonzales, Rob Dempsey (Stomp, Ambassadors Theatre) as Understudy Drummer/Doctor, Janet Etuk (Princess Essex, Globe) as Eunice Hubbel, Alexander Eliot (Pass Over, Kiln Theatre) as Steve Hubbel/Understudy Stanley Kowalski/Harold "Mitch" Mitchell, Gabriela Garcia (In Dreams, Leeds Playhouse) as Flower Seller/Nurse/Singer/Understudy Stella Kowalski, Francesca Knight (Witness for the Prosecution, County Hall) as Understudy Blanche Dubois/Eunice Hubbel, Tom Penn (Wolf Witch Giant Fairy, Royal Opera House/Little Bulb) as Doctor/Drummer, Curtis Patrick (The Score, Theatre Royal Bath) as Understudy Young Collector/Steve Hubbel/Pablo Gonzales, Constanza Ruff (Anthropoda, Traverse) as Understudy Flower Seller/Nurse/Singer and Jabez Sykes (Rock, Paper, Scissors, Sheffield Theatres) as Young Collector.
