Further cast revealed for new revival of Kiss of the Spider Woman

Kiss of the Spider Woman will make its first major revival in over 30 years at the Curve Theatre in Leicester from 3 April 2026 before embarking on a short tour.

Layton Williams (Titanique, Criterion Theatre) and George Blagden (The Cabinet Minister, Menier Chocolate Factory) will join the previously announced Anna Jane Casey (Mother Goose, UK Tour), adapted for the stage by Terrence McNally.

Kander and Ebb’s Tony Award-winning Broadway musical is based on Manuel Puig’s novel and tells the story of two cellmates in a Latin American prison; one a political revolutionary, the other a romantic dreamer who escapes reality through movies. As their unlikely friendship deepens, fantasy and reality intertwine through the haunting figure of the Spider Woman, who embodies both beauty and death.

Further casting for Kiss of the Spider Woman is to be announced.

The production will feature choreography by Joanna Goodwin, set design by David Woodhead, costume design by Gabriella Slade, orchestrations and arrangements by Sarah Travis, lighting design by Howard Hudson, and sound design by Matt Peploe. Casting is by Stuart Burt. Musicians for this production are sponsored by music licensing company PPL.

Kiss of the Spider Woman will play at Curve Theatre, Leicester from 3 to 25 April 2026, before heading to Bristol Old Vic from 29 April to 16 May 2026, and at Mayflower Studios from 2 to 6 June 2026.
