First Look: Rehearsal Images released for HERE & NOW - The Official Steps Musical

Co-produced by ROYO with Pete Waterman, the musical opens next month at the Alexandra in Birmingham.

Here’s our first look at Here & Now, which features music from the iconic UK pop band Steps. Directed by Rachel Kavanaugh (The Great British Bake Off Musical), and with choreography by Olivier Award-winning Matt Cole (Newsies).

Here & Now stars Rebecca Lock (School of Rock, UK Tour) as Caz, Hiba Elchikhe (The Time Traveller’s Wife Musical) as Neeta, Sharlene Hector (Standing at the Sky’s Edge) as Vel King and Blake Patrick Anderson (Rent) as Robbie Davies.

Joining them will be Finty Williams (The Baker’s Wife), Dan Partridge (Grease), Helen Colby (Sinatra the Musical), Gary Milner (Kiss Me, Kate), River Medway (House of Cleopatra) Edward Baker Duly (The King and I) and John Stacey (Kiss Me, Kate), will join the cast as Patricia, Ben, Tracey, Gareth, Jem, Max and Lesley respectively.

The cast is completed by Olivia Bella (professional debut), Jabari Braham (Hello, Dolly!), (Michael CarolanShrek), Alex Christian (Disney’s Newsies), Kade Ferraiolo (I Should Be So Lucky), Jemma Geanaus (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), Charlie-Jay Johnson (Company, Bird College), Serina Mathew (The Time Traveller’s Wife), Jago Mottart (Jesus Christ Superstar), Markus Sodergren (Heathers the Musical) and Genevieve Taylor (Wicked).

Set in the seaside superstore Better Best Bargains on a Friday night where the vibe is right and everyone’s dancing in the aisles. But when Caz discovers the shelves are stocked with lies and betrayal, the summer of love she and her friends dreamed of suddenly feels like a tragedy.

Here & Now will open at the Alexandra, Birmingham for a limited run from 9 - 30 November 2024.
