Having visited the opening of MARILYN – The Exhibition, I had the unique opportunity to immerse myself in the world of one of Hollywood's most enduring icons. Surrounded by her clothes and some replicas, personal items, and memorabilia, the exhibition created an intimate atmosphere that allowed visitors to connect with Marilyn Monroe beyond her glamorous image. The event was made even more special by Suzie Kennedy’s performance as Monroe. Singing, dancing, and teasing the audience with Monroe’s signature charm, Kennedy’s portrayal transported everyone back in time, setting the perfect tone for an unforgettable experience.

Starting on October 18th in London, MARILYN – The Exhibition offers an extraordinary opportunity for anyone wanting to explore the life and career of the star. The exhibition is not just about viewing her personal belongings; it’s a journey through Monroe’s transformation from Norma Jeane Baker into the global icon Marilyn Monroe. Ted Stampfer, the world’s largest collector of Monroe’s belongings, has curated a fascinating array of items—ranging from furniture to culinary objects—that reflect different aspects of her life. Of particular note are the makeup and clothes, which serve as a visual reminder of Monroe’s enduring influence on fashion and beauty.

The exhibition is well-structured, starting with Monroe's early years and guiding visitors through her rise to fame and the final stages of her life. Each section of the exhibit tells a part of her story, highlighted by carefully chosen quotes displayed on the walls. These quotes offer visitors a glimpse into Monroe’s inner thoughts, showcasing her wit and intellect, qualities that were often overshadowed by the public’s superficial perception of her. These personal reflections add depth to the experience, inviting the audience to see a side of Marilyn that the world rarely saw.

Visitors can wander through the exhibition, use the audio guide for a more immersive experience, and even snap photos alongside the memorabilia. A fun addition is the photo booth at the shop where guests can print photos as a unique souvenir of the exhibition.

The exhibition offers an opportunity to celebrate Marilyn Monroe’s life, beauty, and legacy. Just choose your outfit carefully! Do wear a skirt if you want to recreate the iconic flying skirt photo and get ready for a fun experience.
