Written and performed by Yolanda Mercy, Failure Project is a hard-hitting, witty play telling the story of Ade, a London based black female playwright beginning to be seen as successful. As compromises have to be made, Ade discusses media portrayals of black females and concessions that are made to a character or moral values in order to appear successful.

Mercy is a commanding and bright performer, filling the stage with camaraderie and laughter even when discussing serious themes of race and gender. Provoking questions as to what it means to fail or succeed, Failure Project is a wonderful play which should not be missed.
