Brand-new production of Blithe Spirit, starring Felicity Kendal, announced.
Felicity Kendal, who is currently starring in High Society at the Barbican Theatre, will star as the eccentric clairvoyant Madame Arcati, in a brand-new production of Blithe Spirit in 2027.
One of the UK’s best loved actors for more than five decades, Felicity Kendal shot to fame in legendary BBC comedy The Good Life. Her other theatre credits include Noises Off, Anything Goes and Hay Fever.
Noël Coward’s supernatural comedy will be directed by Lindsay Posner following West End transfers of The Deep Blue Sea and A View From The Bridge. The story follows Novelist Charles Condomine and his second wife, Ruth, who are literally haunted by a past relationship when Madame Arcati inadvertently conjures up the ghost of his first wife, Elvira, at a séance. Visible only to Charles, and determined to sabotage his current marriage, the mischievous Elvira makes sure life - and the afterlife - gets very complicated for all concerned!
Further casting and the creative team for the production are to be announced.
Blithe Spirit will play at the Theatre Royal Bath from 13 - 22 May 2027, prior to a national tour.
