Shakespeare's Globe announces cast for 2026 production of A Midsummer Night's Dream

Emily Lim, known for her work on The Odyssey at the National Theatre, will direct this production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream from 23 April to 29 August.

Experience a world where the veil between the everyday and extraordinary grows joyfully thin in a vibrant new production of Shakespeare’s timeless comedy. Follow a group of giddy lovers chasing desire and connection through a moonlit forest as they collide with playful spirits in a fairy realm where anything is possible.

The cast will comprise of Olivier Award-nominated actress Audrey Brisson (Amélie the Musical) as Hippolyta/Titania, alongside Sophie Cox (Playfight, Soho Theatre) as Hermia, Jamal Franklin (Pinocchio, Shakespeare’s Globe) as Snug, Michael Grady-Hall (Twelfth Night) as Puck, Gareth Kennerley (The Importance of Being Earnest, Play in the Park) as Egeus/Flute, Mel Lowe (A Christmas Carol, Sheffield Crucible) as Lysander, Victoria Moseley (My Brilliant Friend, National Theatre) as Quince, Enyi Okoronkwo (King James, Hampstead Theatre) as Oberon/Theseus, Em Prendergast (Animal Farm, Leeds Playhouse and Stratford East) as Snout, Adrian Richards (Noises Off!, Garrick Theatre) as Bottom, Gavi Singh Chera (Indian Ink, Hampstead Theatre)as Demetrius, and Romaya Weaver (The Cabinet Minister, Menier Chocolate Factory) as Helena.
