Cast announced for return of Ride the Cyclone the Musical to London

The critically acclaimed London production of Ride the Cyclone the Musical will return to the Southwark Playhouse Elephant following its record-shattering and sold-out UK premiere last year.

Joining the St Cassian’s Chamber Choir will be Kayna Montecillo (The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical, UK Tour) as Ocean and Josh Butler (Why Am I So Single?, West End) as Noel.

Returning to the show as Jane Doe, Constance, Mischa and Ricky respectively are Grace Galloway (Educating Rita, Dundee Rep Theatre), Robyn Gilbertson, Bartek Kraszewski and Jack Maverick - all three of whom made their professional debuts in the show last year. The cast is completed by Nathaniel Purnell (Shucked, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre) and Rebecca D’Lacey (The Rocky Horror Picture Show, European Tour), who return as swings.

The casting for The Amazing Karnak is to be announced.

Directed and choreographed by Lizzi Gee, Ride the Cyclone is a darkly comedic musical that follows six Canadian teenagers from a chamber choir who die in a freak roller coaster accident and wake up in limbo. There, they encounter a mechanical fortune teller, The Amazing Karnak, who tells them they must compete through songs and stories to win a single chance to return to life.

The show, which received its world premiere in Canada in 2008, has had triumphant success across the world. An American premiere took place at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre in September 2015 and went on to open Off-Broadway at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in November 2016. Since then, it has had runs in Seattle, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Sydney and Buenos Aires.
