Black Blues Brothers: Let’s Twist Again, McEwan Hall at Underbelly Bristo Square Review

Written by Brian Keachie for Theatre & Tonic

This year, I attended the Fringe with a friend who had never been before – so I was determined to start them off with something top-notch. Having been blown away by The Black Blues Brothers at the 2024 Fringe, I knew exactly where to take them.

From the moment we entered, the stage set and perfectly chosen music set the scene beautifully. Then the Brothers appeared – storytelling from the very first beat, delivering their trademark blend of charm, humour, and jaw-dropping skill.

What followed was captivating, mesmerising, unbelievable, engrossing, enthralling, riveting, and utterly spellbinding.

Their acrobatics filled every inch of the stage, each move executed with seemingly effortless precision – and those ever-present, full-beam smiles masking just how demanding the feats truly were.

The storyline was simple to follow, but it served more as a thread to tie together the spectacle, never detracting from the sheer joy of the performance. The music was spot on, the pacing flawless, and the energy non-stop.

Black Blue Brothers: Let’s Twist Again is high-end, world-class entertainment from a group of magnetic performers. Gentlemen – haste ye back to Fringe 2026!

Would I recommend this show? ABSOLUTELY.

Black Blue Brothers: Let’s Twist Again plays McEwan Hall at Underbelly, Bristo Square until 25 August
