Cabin Fever, theSpace @ Symposium Hall Review

Written by Kerry McLaughlin for Theatre & Tonic

Cabin Fever follows a multitude of two-seaters on a long-haul flight from London to LAX. There’s the two old school friends who ironically end up sitting together, a wellness woman with a man stressed about his marriage, an elderly couple taking their first trip to America, two influencers, a family with two screaming kids, a mother and her young child and finally two stewardesses.

You’re fully immersed in the show from the get-go, being handed a “programme” styled like a plane safety manual as you enter by the two actors who play all the roles within the piece. Aurelia Harris-Johnstone and Beth Miles seemingly flow through all the characters to the point where you forget it's the same two playing them all. You become so invested in a certain pair in the moment that when they change to around the process starts all over again.

A play that has the energy of a “Come Fly with Me” episode in the best way possible, Cabin Fever plays to its comedy strengths while still being able to pull in a few heartstring moments to its advantage.

Cabin Fever plays at theSpace @ Symposium Hall until 23 August
