The Uncrackable Case, Pleasance Courtyard (Pleasance Two) Review

Written by Brian N Keachie for Theatre & Tonic

I’ll admit it — I booked this on a whim, not quite knowing what to expect. Now, having just witnessed it, I’m absolutely buzzing!

From the very first moment, The Uncrackable Case was pure delight. The stage set was inventive and eye-catching, with every detail in place. The choreography was razor-sharp — slick, dynamic, and executed with real flair. A clever touch was the raised projection screen displaying the script as the action unfolded, adding a playful extra layer for the audience.

The music had the freshness of a modern score, perfectly complementing the witty, well-paced script. Nursery rhymes we all know and love were cleverly reimagined, woven into a sharp and occasionally cheeky satirical storyline.

The four leading “divas” delivered a masterclass in performance — pitch-perfect vocals, spot-on timing, and a real sense of fun that was utterly infectious.

This is laugh-out-loud theatre of the highest calibre: polished, playful, and packed with charm. One of those rare Fringe gems that leaves you grinning from ear to ear. Don’t miss it!

The Uncrackable Case plays at Pleasance Courtyard (Pleasance Two) until 25 Aug
