Cast announced for The Oresteia at Bridge Theatre
A new production of The Oresteia will be written and directed by Simon Stone at the Bridge Theatre for a limited run this summer. The production, which is in collaboration with Wouter van Ransbeek, will play for 11 weeks from 14 July, tickets are available now at bridgetheatre.co.uk.
Joining the previously announced Mary-Louise Parker (Two-time Tony Award Winner for The Sound Inside) as Montie, David Morrissey (Gone) as Christopher, Tom Glynn-Carney (All My Sons) as Augie, Rosie Sheehy (Guess How Much I Love You?) as Alice, Lloyd Hutchinson (Dear England) as Melville, John Macmillan (The Lady from the Sea) as Jerome and Archie Madekwe (Saltburn) as Lorenzo are Alyth Ross (The Woman In Cabin 10) as Jenny and Rakhee Thakrar (Sex Education) as Chandra.
Completing the cast are understudies Seán Donegan, George Renshaw, Andy Umerah, Emily Waters and Kirsty Yates.
The Oresteia follows a contemporary family who wakes up in a Greek myth and can’t seem to find a way out of their hellish destiny.
Joining Simon on the creative team is set designer Lizzie Clachan, with music by Stefan Gregory, lighting design by Nick Schlieper, sound design by Peter Rice, costume design by Emma White and casting by Jessica Ronane CDG. Production manager is Jim Leaver, the associate director is Benedict Crosby, the associate lighting designer is Guy Jones, the costume supervisor is Anna Josephs and the props supervisor is Lily Mollgaard.
The Oresteia plays at the Bridge Theatre from 14 July to 19 September 2026.
