An incredible story, highlighting the struggles young people face when their parents enter the prison system. Using her own lived experience, Kerry Wright balances humour with distress to draw attention to the unsung stories of young people whose parents are in prison.

Using a small set, we were able to enter Kailey's world, navigating life as a newly turned adult, failing friendships and relationships with her mum, amplified by the environment surrounding her.

The quick pace of the production is a defining characteristic, keeping the energy high and the audience engaged from the opening scene.

Hannah Mullen as Kailey was great casting, Mullen showed off a natural performance that hooked me in from the beginning.

When the end arrived, it felt like there was more to this story. Longing for more, it was like a comma rather than a full stop. A powerful play that explores tough life experiences interestingly and provocatively.

Kailey plays for a short tour until 20 September.
